7.2 Magnitude Earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand and the rest of South Island

R is there! He called me up on Yahoo! Messenger right after it happened when they all got back from outside. There was a typhoon that day, too and was pretty cold. When he got back inside, there came the aftershocks.

I was so worried, good thing they are all okay, apart from the woman staying in one of the rooms who went out crying.

Earthquakes are apparently normal in the area. But still shocking to have heard a first hand experience.

There are reports of damages and power outage, but no tsunami alert, so that’s a good thing.
